Effects of Ginkgo biloba leaves combined with Lurasidone tablets on patients with schizophrenia and their impact on microRNA and nerve damage factors
Objective To explore the effects of Ginkgo biloba leaves combined with Lurasidone tablets on microRNAs and nerve damage factors in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 86 patients with schizophrenia admitted to Wenzhou Seventh People' s Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 43 patients in each group, using a random number table method. The control group was treated with Lurasidone tablets, while the observation group was treated with Ginkgo biloba leaves in addition to the control group. The clinical efficacy, positive and negative symptom scale (PANSS) scores, microRNA levels, and levels of nerve cytokines (S100 β,brain-derived neurotroph-ic factor (BDNF),glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP)) between two groups were observed and compared. Results The PANSS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group after 1 month and 3 months of treatment (t=9.552,7.663,P<0.05),and lower than those of the control group after 3 months of treatment (t=12.105,P<0.05). The total clinical effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (x2=5.460,P<0.05);After 3 months of treatment, the levels of BDNF,miRNA-132,and miRNA-320 in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (t=-7.2,-25.881,-22.728,P<0.05). The levels of GFAP and S100 βwere significantly lower than those in the control group (t=8.443,4.154 P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of Ginkgo biloba leaves and Lurasidone tablets has a good therapeutic effect on patients with schizophrenia, effectively upregulating the expression levels of miR132 and miR320,reducing neuronal damage, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
