The Effect of Retaining the Extraction Site in Dental Implant Restoration on Postoperative Aesthetic Appearance and Mid to Long-term Bone Loss in Patients after Restoration
Objective:To investigate the effect of retaining the extraction site in dental implant restoration on the aesthetic appearance and mid to long-term bone loss of patients after restoration.Method:A total of 81 patients with dental implant restoration admitted to Yingtan People's Hospital from January 2021 to March 2022 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into the control group(40 cases)and the observation group(41 cases)using random number method. Both groups of patients were treated with minimally invasive tooth extraction, the control group received conventional dental implant restoration, the observation group received dental implant restoration with retaining the extraction site. The changes in alveolar bone density, bone height, and bone width between two groups of patients before tooth extraction,6 and 12 months after tooth extraction were compared. The aesthetic appearance, satisfaction score, and implant success rate between the two groups were compared.Result:Before tooth extraction, there were no statistically significant differences in alveolar bone density, bone height, and bone width between the two groups of patients(P>0.05);after 6 and 12 months of tooth extraction, the alveolar bone density, bone height, and bone width of both groups of patients were lower than those before tooth extraction(P<0.05);however,after 6 and 12 months of tooth extraction, the bone density and height of the alveolar bone in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the bone width were greater than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were interactive effect between the two groups of patients in terms of alveolar bone density, bone height, and bone width before tooth extraction,6 months after tooth extraction, and 12 months after tooth extraction, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).The aesthetic appearance and satisfaction scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).There was no statistically significant difference in the success rate of implantation between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The technique of preserving the extraction site in dental implant restoration can reduce patient bone resorption, protect alveolar bone density, bone height, and bone width, and improve the aesthetic appearance and satisfaction after tooth extraction restoration,it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
