The Effect of Midwife-led Noninvasive Interventions on Reducing Lateral Episiotomy and Perineal Tears in Primipara during Delivery
Objective:To investigate the effect of midwife-led noninvasive intervention on reducing the lateral episiotomy and perineal tear in primipara during delivery.Method:A toal of 100 primiparas were selected from July 2021 to July 2023 in Beijing Huairou Hospital, and were divided into the control group(traditional midwifery)and the observation group(non-invasive midwife-led intervention)by the random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The rates of lateral episiotomy and degree of perineal tear, the length of labor, the pain scores[visual analogue scale(VAS)],the usage rate of oxytocin, and the complications of the two groups were compared.Result:Lateral episiotomy and degree of perineal tear in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The duration of labor in the control group were longer than those in the observation group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before labor, the difference in VAS scores between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05);on the 1st and 5th day after delivery,VAS scores of observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications and usage rate of oxytocin in the control group were higher than those in the observation group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The acceptance of midwife-led noninvasive intervention in primipara during delivery can reduce the incidence of lateral episiotomy and perineal tear, complications, shorten the duration of labor, and reduce pain.
