Effect of Laparoscopic Radical Gastrectomy on Body Inflammation and Prognosis in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Gastric Cancer
Objective:To investigate the effect of laparoscopic radical gastrectomy on body inflammation and prognosis in the treatment of elderly patients with gastric cancer.Method:A total of 80 elderly patients with gastric cancer diagnosed and treated in Affiliated Hospital of Putian University from May 2020 to January 2023 were selected, and divided into groups according to random number table method, the control group(n=40)received traditional open surgery, and the observation group(n=40)received radical laparoscopic radical gastrectomy. The perioperative basic indicators, complications, pepsinogen Ⅰ(PGⅠ),serum tumor markers[carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9),carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125)]and body inflammatory indicators[C reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT)and erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)]were compared between the two groups.Result:The incision length, surgery time, hospital stay, postoperative time to get out of bed and postoperative exhaust time in the observation group were shorter compared to those in the control group, and intraoperative bleeding volume was less than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).3 months after surgery, the postoperative serum CA125 and CA19-9 values in the observation group were significantly decreased compared with those in the control group, while the PGⅠ value was significantly increased compared with that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).7 days after surgery, the values of inflammatory indicators(CRP,PCT and ESR)in the observation group were significantly decreased compared with those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total proportion of patients with complications during hospitalization in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Laparoscopic radical gastrectomy has better short-term effects in the treatment of elderly patients with gastric cancer.Compared with traditional open surgery, laparoscopic radical gastrectomy can more effectively reduce inflammation and serum tumor markers, and has fewer complications,so the surgical safety is relatively more guaranteed.
