The Effect of Huatan Tongluo Formula Combined with Acupoint Massage in Patients with Spastic Hemiplegia after Cerebral Infarction
Objective:To explore the effect of Huatan Tongluo Formula combined with acupoint massage on spastic hemiplegia(SH)after cerebral infarction.Method:A total of 86 patients with post-stroke SH admitted to Zhanjiang the Second Hospital of T.C.M from August 2020 to August 2022 were selected and randomly divided into two groups,with 43 patients in each group.The control group was treated with routine treatment and rehabilitation exercise,while the observation group was added with Huatan Tongluo Formula combined with acupoint massage,both groups lasted treatment for 4 weeks.The clinical efficacy,degree of limb spasms,daily living ability,motor ability,traditional Chinese medicine symptom score,and safety between two groups were compared.Result:The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the clinical spasticity index(CSI)score after treatment was lower than that of the control group;the Barthel index(BI)score and Fugl-Meyer motor function assessment scale(FMA)score of the observation group were both higher than those of the control group,the scores of hemiplegia,tongue deviation,hand and foot stiffness and limb numbness of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant adverse reactions in both groups.Conclusion:The combination of Huatan Tongluo Formula and acupoint massage is effective in treating SH patients after cerebral infarction,reducing limb spasms and improving motor ability.
