Effect of Periodontal Basic Therapy in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Complicated with Chronic Periodontitis and Its Influence on Inflammatory Factors
Objective:To investigate the effect of periodontal basic therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with chronic periodontitis and its influence on inflammatory factors.Method:A total of 78 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with chronic periodontitis treated in Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital Ganzhou Hospital from February 2020 to February 2022 were selected and divided into basic group(n=39)and observation group(n=39)according to random number table method. The basic group was treated with periodontal basic therapy, and the observation group was treated with Ornidazole on the basis of the basic group. The clinical efficacy, inflammatory factors, osteoprotegerin(OPG),periodontal indexes and oxidative stress indexes were compared between the two groups.Result:Before treatment, there were no significant differences in interleukin-21(IL-21),interleukin-17(IL-17),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),OPG,plaque index(PLI),sulcus bleeding inde(SBI),probing depth(PD),clinical attachment level(CAL),reactive oxygen species(ROS),malondialdehyde(MDA)and superoxide disgum(SOD)between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the total effective rate,OPG and SOD in observation group were higher than those in basic group,IL-21,IL-17,TNF-α,PLI,PD,ROS and MDA in observation group were lower than those in basic group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ornidazole combined with periodontal basic therapy has a good clinical effect on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with chronic periodontitis, which can reduce inflammatory reaction and oxidative stress reaction and improve periodontal tissue status.
