Clinical Effect of Warm Acupuncture and Moxibustion Combined with Small Needle-knife on Cold Dampness Syndrome of Knee Osteoarthritis
Objective:To explore the clinical effect of warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with small needle-knife on cold dampness syndrome of knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Method:A total of 138 patients with cold dampness syndrome of KOA who were admitted in Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Dushan County People's Hospital from February 2021 to February 2023 were selected, and they were randomly divided into warm acupuncture and moxibustion group(n=46,warm acupuncture and moxibustion treatment),small needle-knife group(n=46,small needle-knife)and combined group(n=46,warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with small needle-knife).All patients were treated for 1 month. The clinical efficacy, symptom score, knee joint function[Western Ontario and McMaster University osteoarthritis index(WOMAC)],knee range of motion(ROM)and degree of pain of the three groups were compared.Result:The total effective rate of the combined group(97.83%)was higher than those of the warm acupuncture and moxibustion group(78.26%)and the small needle-knife group(82.61%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the symptom scores of the three groups were decreased(P<0.05),the score of the combined group was lower than those of the warm acupuncture and moxibustion group and the small needle-knife group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the WOMAC scores of the three groups were decreased(P<0.05),and the WOMAC score of the combined group was lower than those of the warm acupuncture and moxibustion group and the small needle-knife group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the ROM of the three groups were increased(P<0.05),and the visual analogue scale(VAS)scores were decreased(P<0.05).The ROM of the combined group was higher than those of the warm acupuncture and moxibustion group and the small needle-knife group(P<0.05),and the VAS score was lower than that of the warm acupuncture and moxibustion group and the small needle-knife group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with small needle-knife can improve the clinical efficacy, alleviate clinical symptoms, improve knee joint function and range of motion bone, and reduce pain in the treatment of KOA cold dampness syndrome.
