Effect of Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets on Thyroid Function and Pregnancy Outcomes in Patients with Early Threatened Miscarriage and Subclinical Hypothyroidism
Objective:To thoroughly investigate the effectiveness of Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets in improving thyroid function indicators in patients with early threatened miscarriage and subclinical hypothyroidism, and to further analyze its potential impact on pregnancy outcomes.Method:A total of 552 patients with early threatened miscarriage and subclinical hypothyroidism admitted to Liaocheng Women and Children's Health Care Hospital from May 2020 to February 2023 were selected as research subjects, these patients were divided into a control group(n=276)and an observation group(n=276)by random number table method. The control group received treatment with Thyroid Tablets, while the observation group was treated with Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets. The thyroid function[free thyroxine(FT4),thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb),and thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)]and hormone levels[β-human chorionic gonadotropin(β-hCG),estradiol(E2),progesterone(P)]as well as pregnancy outcomes[miscarriage, preterm birth, postpartum hemorrhage, premature rupture of membranes, intrauterine fetal distress, low birth weight, fetal malformation, cesarean section, natural childbirth]in both groups were compared before treatment and one month after treatment.Result:Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in thyroid function and hormone levels between the two groups(P>0.05).One month after treatment, there was no significant difference in FT4 level between the two groups(P>0.05);levels of TPOAb and TSH in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while levels of β-hCG,E2,and P were higher, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The observation group had significantly lower adverse pregnancy outcomes including miscarriage, premature birth, postpartum hemorrhage, premature rupture of membranes, intrauterine fetal distress, low birth weight infants, and fetal malformations compared to the control group;the pregnancy outcome of cesarean section was significantly lower compared to the control group, the natural childbirth rate was higher, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Treatment with Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets in patients with early threatened miscarriage and subclinical hypothyroidism can effectively improve thyroid function and hormone levels, reduce the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes, and increase the rate of natural childbirth.
