Effect of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery on Stress Response and Postoperative Pain in Children Undergoing Otorhinolaryngology Surgery
Objective:To investigate the application effect of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)in children otorhinolaryngology surgery.Method:A total of 64 children who underwent otorhinolaryngology surgery in Guiyang Huaxi District People's Hospital from June 2021 to July 2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table method, with 32 cases in each group. The control group received conventional perioperative management, and the observation group received perioperative management under ERAS model. The anxiety emotion, postoperative pain score, postoperative agitation score, postoperative nausea and vomiting, hospital stay and parental satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Result:At admission, there was no significant difference in screen for child anxiety related emotional disorders(SCARED)score between the two groups(P>0.05).Operation day and after operation,SCARED scores of both groups decreased, and that in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).2,12,24 hours after operation, children's hospital of Eastern Ontario pain scale(CHEOPS)and agitation scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the hospital stay in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group and the total parental satisfaction in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of ERAS in the perioperative management of children otorhinolaryngology surgery has good effect, which can effectively reduce stress response and postoperative pain, reduce postoperative nausea and vomiting, shorten hospital stay and improve parental satisfaction.
