A Study on the Relationship between Th17 Cells and Eosinophilic Chronic Sinusitis with Nasal Polyps
Chronic sinusitis(CRS)is a common and frequently occurring disease in otorhinolaryngology. Its main clinical features are nasal congestion, purulent runny nose, dizziness, headache, and hypoolfaction. The disease has a long course, and is lingering and difficult to recover, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. In particular, eosinophilic chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP)has higher visual analogue scale(VAS)score, more nasal symptoms, and is more likely to recur after surgery. At present, the etiology and pathogenesis of eosinophilic CRSwNP have not been fully elucidated, and now most studies believe that immune response deficiency is the main pathogenic factor. This article reviews the pathogenesis of eosinophilic CRSwNP according to the Th2 type immune response dominated by Th17/Treg imbalance, providing a theoretical basis for its clinical diagnosis and treatment.
