Effect of Autologous Limbal Stem Cell Transplantation Combined with Pterygium Excision in Treatment of Pterygium Patients
Objective:To investigate the effect of limbal stem cell transplantation combined with pterygium excision in treatment of pterygium patients.Method:Eighty patients with pterygium treated in No.2 Hospital of Nanping City from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the observation objects and divided into two groups according to the number of hospitalization numbers, with 40 cases in each group.Among which the control group was treated with pterygium resection and the study group was treated with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation and pterygium resection. The naked eye visual acuity, diopter, results of breakup time of tear film(BUT)and Schirmer test(SIT)of the two groups were compared before and after surgery, and the complications of the two groups were analyzed.Result:The naked eye visual acuity,BUT and SIT results of the study group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The diopter of the study group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The complication rate of the study group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Combined pterygium excision and autologous limbal stem cell transplantation in patients with pterygium can improve naked eye vision and diopter after surgery, and is beneficial to restore normal tear film function, with high safety.
