The Impact of Intensive Nutrition Combined with Resistance Exercise Training on Muscle Function and Inflammatory Factors in Elderly Patients with Sarcopenia
Objective:To explore the impact of intensive nutrition combined with resistance exercise training on muscle function and inflammatory factors in elderly patients with sarcopenia.Method:A total of 100 elderly patients with sarcopenia admitted to Suzhou Ninth People's Hospital from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected for the study,50 patients were randomly chosen for the control group and another 50 for the observation group. The control group received routine nutritional support, while the observation group received intensive nutritional combined with resistance exercise training. The muscle function[appendicular skeletal muscle index(ASMI),grip strength,6-minute walking test(6MWT)],inflammatory factors[Interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)],and satisfaction levels of the two groups after the intervention were compared.Result:After intervention, the ASMI,grip strength, and 6MWT in the observation group were better than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the levels of IL-6,TNF-α,and IL-1β between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05);after intervention, the levels of IL-6,TNF-α,and IL-1β in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Intensive nutrition combined with resistance exercise training has a significant impact on muscle function and inflammatory factors in elderly patients with sarcopenia.
