Clinical Efficacy of Intensive Silver Needle Therapy with Tenderness Points in the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of intensive silver needle therapy with tenderness points in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Method:Eighty patients with KOA admitted to the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department of Jinan Zhangqiu District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from December 2022 to June 2023 were included and randomly divided into filiform needle group(n=40,given filiform needle warming acupuncture and moxibustion treatment)and silver needle group(n=40,given intensive silver needle therapy with tenderness points treatment),the course of treatment of both groups was 4 weeks. The clinical effect, the degree of knee pain[visual analogue scale(VAS)],knee function(WOMAC osteoarthritis index)before and after treatment and the occurrence of adverse reactions were observed.Result:The total effective rate of the silver needle group was higher than that of the filiform needle group(P<0.05).After treatment, the knee joint pain score and knee joint function score of the silver needle group were lower than those of the filiform needle group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was 5%in both groups. Conclusion:The intensive silver needle therapy with tenderness points can effectively alleviate pain and improve knee joint function in the treatment of KOA,with definite results.
