The Effect of Etomidate Induced General Anesthesia for MECT on Hemodynamic Indicators and Stress Response in Patients with Schizophrenia
Objective:To observe the effects of Etomidate induced general anesthesia for without modified electric convulsive therapy(MECT)on hemodynamic indicators and stress response in patients with schizophrenia(SP).Method:A total of 86 SP patients admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Ganzhou from May 2022 to May 2023 were divided into two groups using a random number table method, with 43 patients in each group. Both groups of patients underwent MECT treatment, with the control group receiving Propofol induced general anesthesia and the observation group receiving Etomidate induced general anesthesia. The hemodynamic indicators at different time points, stress reactions, and adverse reactions between the two groups were compared.Result:Systolic blood pressure and heart rate in the control group at 5 minutes after anesthesia(T1)were lower compared to before anesthesia(T0),diastolic blood pressure at T1 was higher compared to T0,and systolic blood pressure and heart rate at MECT(T2)and 5 minutes after MECT(T3)were higher compared to T0 and T1(P<0.05);the systolic blood pressure and heart rate of the observation group were lower at T1 than at T0,and the systolic blood pressure and heart rate at T2 and T3 were higher than those at T0 and T1(P<0.05);comparison of diastolic blood pressure at T0,T1,T2,and T3 in the observation group, the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and heart rate of the observation group at T2 and T3 were all lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),the systolic blood pressure, heart rate of the observation group T1 were all lower than those of the control group, diastolic blood pressure was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).At T3,the levels of adrenal gland(NE),adrenaline(E),and cortisol(Cor)in both groups were increased, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Etomidate induced general anesthesia is beneficial for stabilizing hemodynamic parameters during MECT treatment in SP patients, reducing stress response, ensuring smooth completion of treatment, and has high safety.
