Clinical Study on the Treatment of Temporomandibular Disorder with Opposing Needling Combined with Heat-sensitive Moxibustion
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of opposing needling combined with heat-sensitive moxibustion in the treatment of temporomandibular disorder(TMD).Method:A total of 80 TMD patients treated in Jiangxi Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine were selected as the study objects, and the cases were selected from June 2013 to September 2020.They were divided into treatment group(n=40)and control group(n=40)according to random number table method. The treatment group was treated with opposing needling and heat-sensitive moxibustion, and the control group was treated with opposing needling alone. The visual analogue scale(VAS)score, maximum mouth opening(MMO),temporomandibular disability index(DI),palpation index(PI),and Fricton craniomandibular index(CMI),and therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups.Result:After treatment,VAS score,DI,PI,and CMI in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group,MMO score was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the treatment group(85.00%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(52.50%)(P<0.05).Conclusion:Opposing needling combined with heat-sensitive moxibustion can effectively improve the clinical effects in the treatment of TMD,the combined treatment can relieve pain, improve restriction of mouth opening, restore mandibular function.
