Effect of Metacarpal Locking Plate in the Treatment of the First Metatarsophalangeal Joint Fusion of Hallux Valgus
Objective:To analyze the effect of metacarpal locking plate in the first metatarsophalangeal joint fusion of hallux valgus.Method:The medical records of 30 patients with moderate severity hallux valgus admitted to Ruijin People's Hospital from May 2019 to May 2021 were retrospectively analyzed, and they were divided into control group and study group according to the surgical plan, with 15 cases in each group. The control group was treated with traditional metatarsophalangeal fusion plate, and the study group was treated with metacarpal locking plate. The hallux valgus angle(HVA),inter metatarsal angle(IMA),American orthopedic foot and ankle society(AOFAS)and visual analogue scale(VAS)scores were compared between the two groups before surgery and the last follow-up.The occurrence of adverse reactions was compared between the two groups.Result:The postoperative VAS scores,AOFAS scores,HVA,and IMA of the two groups were significantly better than those before operation(P<0.05).The postoperative VAS score,AOFAS score,HVA and IMA of the study group were better than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The complication rate in the study group was lower than that in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(字2=0.745,P>0.05).Conclusion:In the first metatarsophalangeal joint fusion in patients with moderate severity hallux valgus, the application of metacarpal locking plate is more effective than the traditional plate treatment, which helps to promote the structural and functional recovery of bone.
