Application of Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy Combined with Traditional Treatment in Old Injuries of the Medial Collateral Ligament of the Knee
Objective:To compare the effects of extracorporeal shockwave therapy(ESWT)combined with traditional treatment and traditional treatment alone in patients with old medial collateral ligament injury of the knee.Method:A retrospective analysis was performed for 85 patients with old medial collateral ligament injury of the knee treated in Zhuhai Fifth People's Hospital from November 2019 to January 2022.Grouping according to different treatment plans, the control group(41 cases)received traditional treatment, and the treatment group(44 cases)received ESWT combined with traditional treatment. The patients'visual analog scale(VAS)scores, range of motion(ROM)of the knee,Lysholm knee scores of patients before treatment, after treatment and during follow-up and efficacy were evaluated.Result:After treatment and during follow-up,the VAS scores,ROM of the knee and Lysholm knee scores of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05).The improvement effect of various indicators in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the control group was 46.34%,and that of the treatment group was up to 95.45%,the total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:ESWT combined with traditional treatment in the treatment of old medial collateral ligament injury of the knee can relieve significantly knee pain and improve the function of the knee joint, and it is better than traditional treatment alone.
