The Effect of Nrf2/HO-1 Signaling Pathway on Malignant Tumors of the Digestive Tract
Malignant tumors of the digestive tract include gastric cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, and pancreatic cancer. This type of disease has caused serious physical and mental health damage to patients and is a problem that must be overcome in human medical progress. The nuclear transcription factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)/heme oxygenase 1(HO-1)signaling pathway plays a key role in oxidative damage, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, induction of autophagy and promotion of angiogenesis in various cells and animal models of digestive system malignant tumors. With the advancement of biological science and technology, the use of advanced technologies to extract natural compounds and drugs to regulate this signaling pathway has shown potential anti-tumor value in preclinical studies. In this paper, the latest research progress on the effect of Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway on digestive tract tumors is briefly reviewed as follows.
