Value of Single and Combined Diagnosis of Infection-related Factors in the Identification of Enteritis Infection Types in Children
Objective:To study the identification value of single blood routine indicator and combined diagnosis on types of enteritis infection in children.Method:A total of 90 children with enteritis infection in Shangrao Municipal Hospital from January 2021 to April 2023 were selected.According to the results of rotavirus test and microbiology laboratory,45 pediatric patients with bacterial infection were included in bacterial group, and 45 pediatric patients with viral infection were enrolled as viral group. The two groups were compared in terms of infection-related factors[white blood cell(WBC),neutrophil(NEUT),lymphocyte(LYM),C reactive protein(CRP),hypersensitive C reactive protein(hs-CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),serum amyloid A(SAA)].Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of single and combined infection-related factors in the diagnosis of enteritis infection type in children.Result:WBC,NEUT,CRP,hs-CRP and PCT in bacterial group were significantly higher than those in viral group(P<0.05),while LYM and SAA were significantly lower than those in viral group(P<0.05).The areas under the curves(AUC)of WBC,NEUT,LYM,CRP,hs-CRP,PCT and SAA in the diagnosis of enteritis infection type in children were 0.681,0.754,0.828,0.711,0.741,0.669 and 0.796,the sensitivities were 57.78%,93.33%,77.78%,51.11%,60.00%,40.00%and 93.33%,and the specificities were 77.78%,62.22%,75.56%,88.89%,97.78%,93.33%and 57.78%respectively.The AUC,sensitivity and specificity of the combination of infection-related factors in the diagnosis of enteritis infection type in children were 0.970,93.33%and 91.11%.Conclusion:WBC,NEUT,CRP,hs-CRP and PCT are highly expressed in children with enteritis bacterial infection, and the above expression levels are higher than those in children with virus infection, while the expression levels of LYM and SAA of children with bacterial infection are significantly lower compared to children with virus infection. The combined diagnosis of the above indicators has important clinical reference value on children with enteritis.
