Application of Multi-sensory Stimulation Combined with Mind-map-based Immersive Nostalgia Nursing in Elderly Patients with Alzheimer's Disease
Objective:To study the effect of multi-sensory stimulation combined with mind-map-based immersive nostalgic nursing in elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD).Method:A total of 120 elderly AD patients admitted to the Second People's Hospital of Jingzhou from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected for this study.They were divided into group A(n=60)and group B(n=60)by computer numbering method.Group B was treated with routine rehabilitation and occupation recreational nursing intervention,while group A was was added multi-sensory stimulation combined with mind-map-based immersive nostalgic nursing intervention on the basis of group B.Psychiatric symptoms,cognitive function,mood and quality of life between the two groups were compared.Result:After 6 months of intervention,the scores of AD behavioral pathology rating scale(BEHAVE-AD)in both groups were lower than those before intervention,and that in group A was lower than that in group B,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 6 months of intervention,simple mental state assessment scale(MMSE)scores,Montreal cognitive assessment scale(MoCA)scores,self-assessment manikin scale(SAM)scores and world health organization quality of life-brief(WHOQOL-BREF)scores in two groups were all higher than those before intervention,and those in group A were higher than those in group B,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Multi-sensory stimulation combined with mind-map-based immersive nostalgic nursing can effectively improve mental symptoms,cognitive function,mood and quality of life in elderly patients with AD.
