Effect of Metformin in the Adjuvant Treatment of PCOS Complicated with Infertility
Objective:To investigate the effect of Metformin in the adjuvant treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)complicated with infertility.Method:A total of 80 patients with PCOS complicated with infertility treated in Department of Gynecology,Ruijin Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2021 to March 2022 were selected and randomly divided into control group(n=40)and observation group(n=40).The control group was treated with Letrozole+Chorionic Gonadotrophin for Injection+Dydrogesterone, and the observation group was treated with Metformin on the basis of the control group, both of which were treated for 3 menstrual cycles. The efficacy, ovulation stimulating outcomes and drug safety of the two groups were evaluated, and the differences of sex hormones, islet function and ovarian artery blood flow parameters before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Result:The total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of control group(90.00%vs 72.50%)(P<0.05).After treatment, compared with the control group, the estradiol(E2),testosterone(T),luteinizing hormone(LH),fasting insulin(FINS),homeostasis model assessmen index(HOMA-IR),monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1),insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)and resistance index(RI)of the observation group were lower, adiponectin(APN),peak systolic velocity(PSV)and pulse index(PI)were higher(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the ovulation rate and pregnancy rate of the observation group were higher, and the incidence of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome(OHSS)was lower(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)after treatment and the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Metformin is effective and safe in the adjuvant treatment of PCOS complicated with infertility, which can regulate the levels of sex hormones and islet function, and improve ovulation rate and pregnancy rate.
