Effects of Anti-VEGF Intravitreal Injection Plus Retinal Laser Photocoagulation on Refractive Parameters and Lens Parameters of Retinopathy of Prematurity
Objective:To investigate the effects of intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)plus retinal laser photocoagulation on refractive parameters and lens parameters in children with retinopathy of prematurity(ROP).Method:A total of 120 children with ROP admitted to the Ophthalmology Department of Nanping First Hospital of Fujian Province from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected, and were randomly divided into group A(n=60)and group B(n=60).Group B was treated with retinal laser photocoagulation, group A was treated with anti-VEGF intravitreal intravitreal injection plus retinal laser photocoagulation. The clinical efficacy, the levels of aqueous vascular factors[platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF),transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),VEGF],refractive parameters and lens parameters(anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, vitreal length, axial length)and the occurrence of complications duration of treatment were compared between the two groups.Result:Six months after operation, the clinical effect of group A(92.92%)was higher than that of group B(80.53%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).6 months after surgery, the levels of PDGF,TGF-β1 and VEGF in group A were lower than those in group B,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).6 months after surgery, the anterior chamber depth in group A was deeper than that in group B,vitreous cavity length and ocular axis length were longer than those in group B,and the lens thickness was thinner than that in group B,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The complication rate of group A(1.77%)was lower than that of group B(9.73%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Anti-VEGF intravitreal injection plus retinal laser photocoagulation is effective in the treatment of children with ROP,which can improve the level of water-vascularity-related factors, refractive parameters and lens parameters in children with high safety.
