Evaluation of the Effect of Acupoint Plastering of Traditional Chinese Medicine Combined with Transcutaneous Electric Acupoint Stimulation on Postoperative Constipation in Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Objective:To evaluate the effect of acupoint plastering of traditional Chinese medicine combined with transcutaneous electric acupoint stimulation on postoperative constipation in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia.Method:A total of 88 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia treated in Nanchang People's Hospital from August 2021 to August 2023 were selected and divided into group A(n=28),group B(n=30)and group C(n=30)by random drawing method.Group A received general nursing intervention, group B was treated with transcutaneous electric acupoint stimulation on the basis of general nursing intervention, group C was treated with acupoint plastering of traditional Chinese medicine combined with transcutaneous electric acupoint stimulation on the basis of general nursing intervention.Clinical related indicators, constipation, visual analogue scale(VAS)score, quality of life and adverse events were compared among the three groups.Result:The first defecation time, defecation interval time and each defecation time in group A were longer than those in group B,and those in group B were longer than those in group C,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 3,7 days of intervention,VAS scores, constipation scores and patient assessment of constipation quality of life questionnaire(PAC-QOL)scores in the three groups were significantly decreased compared with those before intervention, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);there were significant differences in VAS scores, constipation scores and PAC-QOL scores among the three groups(P<0.05).VAS scores, constipation scores and PAC-QOL scores in group A were significantly higher than those in group B and group C,those in group B were significantly higher than those in group C(P<0.05).There were significant differences in the incidence of fecal obstruction and the total incidence of adverse events among the three groups(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse events in group A was higher than that in group B,and that in group B was higher than that in group C,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupoint plastering of traditional Chinese medicine combined with transcutaneous electric acupoint stimulation can effectively improve constipation of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia after surgery, improve the quality of life and reduce the incidence rates of adverse events.
