Retrospective Analysis of Color Doppler Ultrasound Screening Results of Breast Nodules in 11,125 Physical Examination People in A Single Center
Objective:To analyse the data of female breast color Doppler ultrasound in Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in recent three years, and to summarize the occurrence and characteristics of breast nodules.Method:The data of 11,125 physical examination people who underwent breast color Doppler ultrasonography in our hospital from August 2020 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, and the classification, diameter, number and location distribution of breast nodules were statistically analyzed by breast color Doppler ultrasound image reports and breast imaging reporting and data system(BI-RADS)classification criteria.Result:(1)Among 11,125 physical examination people,3,089 were found to have breast nodules, and the incidence of breast nodules was 27.77%.(2)With the increase of age,the detection proportion of categories 4 of breast nodules showed an overall upward trend. There were statistically significant differences in categories 4,3 and 2 of breast nodules in different age groups(P<0.05).(3)According to the BI-RADS classification criteria, there were 416 cases(13.47%)in category 2,506 cases(81.13%)in category 3,and 167 cases(5.41%)in category 4 of all breast nodules.(4)Category 2,3 and 4 of breast nodules were most common in 30-39 years old, followed by 40-49 years old.(5)There were statistically significant differences in age and BI-RADS classification of different numbers of breast nodules(P<0.05).The distribution age of 1 and 2 breast nodules were mainly 30-39 years old,and the distribution age of 3 or more breast nodules was mainly 40-49 years old.The classification of BI-RADS of different numbers of breast nodules was mainly in category 3,followed by category 2.(6)The age and BI-RADS classification of breast nodules with different diameters were statistically significant(P<0.05).The diameter of breast nodules at all ages(except≤29 years old)was mainly≤20 mm,the diameter of category 3 of breast nodules is mainly>5 mm and≤20 mm,and the diameter of category 3 of breast nodules is mainly≤5 mm.(7)The proportion of category 4c of breast nodules in people≥60 years old was the highest. The most common site of breast nodules was in the left breast, and the distribution quadrant was mainly in the outer upper quadrant. Conclusion:Breast nodules tend to occur 30-49 years old,and the incidence of category 4 of breast nodules is higher in people≥50 years old,so breast related examinations should be carried out in time.In addition, women should pay attention to self-screening of the outer upper quadrant of the breast.
