Analysis of Risk Factors of Urinary System Infection in Elderly Patients after Transurethral Resection of Prostate
Objective:To investigate the risk factors of urinary system infection in elderly patients after transurethral resection of prostate(TURP).Method:A total of 105 elderly patients who received TURP treatment in Ganzhou People's Hospital from February 2022 to February 2023 were selected.Clinical data of the patients were collected and compared, and they were divided into infected group(n=26)and non-infected group(n=79)according to whether infection occurred.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors of postoperative urinary system infection.Result:Among 105 elderly patients,a total of 26 cases(24.76%)developed urinary system infection after TURP.There were no significant differences in age, body mass index, history of hypertension, history of diabetes, history of hyperlipidemia, course of disease, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative electrocoagulation times and drainage volume between the two groups(P>0.05).The proportion of detrusor functional instability, catheter blockage and international prostate symptom score(IPSS),catheter balloon water injection in the infected group were higher than those in the non-infected group, operation time and catheter indwelling time were longer than those in non-infected group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that detrusor function, operation time and catheter indwelling time were risk factors for urinary system infection after TURP in elderly patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:Detrusor function, operation time and catheter indwelling time are risk factors for urinary system infection in elderly patients after TURP.Targeted intervention should be strengthened to reduce the incidence of urinary system infection.
