Application Effect of Dexmedetomidine Combined with Etomidate Anesthesia Scheme in Elderly Patients Undergoing Radical Resection of Rectal Cancer
Objective:To investigate the effect of Dexmedetomidine combined with Etomidate anesthesia scheme in elderly patients undergoing radical resection of rectal cancer.Method:A total of 70 patients who received radical resection of rectal cancer in Huangshi Aikang Hospital Affiliated to Hubei Polytechnic University from January 1,2022 to December 31,2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table method. All patients were given intravenou injection of 0.5-1 mg/kg Propofol,0.5 μg/kg Sufentanil, and 0.1 mg/kg Vecuronium Bromide for induction anesthesia. The control group (n=35) used Etomidate anesthesia scheme during operation, and the compound group (n=35) used Dexmedetomidine+Etomidate anesthesia scheme during operation. The hemodynamics at different time points[before induction (T0),immediately after intubation (T1),at the end of the operation (T2),and immediately after extubation (T3)],cognitive function, inflammatory factors[interleukin-6 (IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α),C reactive protein (CRP)]and gastrointestinal function recovery were compared between the two groups.Result:At T0,there were no significant differences in heart rate and mean arterial pressure between the two groups (P>0.05).Heart rate and mean arterial pressure at T1,T2 and T3 in compound group were significantly higher than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Immediately after extubation and on the second day after extubation,mini-mental state examination (MMSE) scores in compound group were higher than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).3 days after operation, the levels of inflammatory factors in both groups were higher than those 1 day before operation, but those in compound group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The recovery time of gastrointestinal function in compound group were significantly earlier than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with Etomidate alone anesthesia scheme, combined with Dexmedetomidine in elderly patients undergoing radical resection of rectal cancer,it can improve hemodynamics and cognitive function, alleviate inflammatory response, and promote postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery.
