Effects of Transoral Submental Vestibular Endoscopic Thyroidectomy on Aesthetic Satisfaction and Scar Self-attention in Patients with Thyroid Cancer after Surgery
Objective:To explore the effects of transoral submental vestibular endoscopic thyroidectomy on aesthetic satisfaction and scar self-attention in patients with thyroid cancer after surgery.Method:The medical records of 80 patients with thyroid cancer who underwent surgical treatment in Jiujiang NO.1 People's Hospital from August 2021 to August 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into observation group and control group according to different surgical approaches. The observation group (n=40) underwent transoral submental vestibular endoscopic thyroidectomy, and the control group (n=40) underwent endoscopic thyroidectomy via bilateral areola approach (ETBAA).Operation-related indexes, scar self-attention,aesthetic satisfaction and prognosis were compared between the two groups.Result:There were no significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, the number of central lymph nodes dissection, operation time, hospital stay and prognosis between the two groups (P>0.05).The aesthetic satisfaction 3 months after surgery in observation group was higher than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Scar self-attention 3 months after surgery in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Both ETBAA and transoral submental vestibular endoscopic thyroidectomy have good efficacy in the treatment of thyroid cancer, and the prognosis of patients is good, but the latter can effectively improve patients' aesthetic satisfaction and reduce their scar self-attention.
