Effect of Electroacupuncture Combined with Selenium Hot Springs on Rheumatoid Arthritis of Wind Cold Dampness Type and Its Impact on Inflammatory Factors
Objective:To analyze the therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture combined with selenium hot springs on patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) of wind cold dampness type and its impact on the levels of inflammatory factors.Method:A total of 120 patients with RA of wind cold dampness type admitted to Yichun Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2023 to June 2024 were selected and they were divided into two groups according to random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received electroacupuncture, regular warm water hand foot bath, and damp heat compress treatment, while the observation group received electroacupuncture combined with selenium hot spring hand foot bath and damp heat compress treatment. The clinical efficacy, symptom severity, pain degree,activity,semi-quantitative ultrasonic score, inflammatory factor and rheumatoid factor (RF) levels and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Result:The total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of control group (P<0.05).After treatment, the time of morning stiffness in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the number of joint swelling, the number of joint tenderness, the score of visual analogue scale, the score of disease activity of 28 joints, the score of each ultrasonic semi-quantitative score, the level of inflammatory factors and RF were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of all items in the World Health Organization quality of life brief scale were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Electroacupuncture combined with selenium hot springs can alleviate symptoms, reduce pain, control inflammatory reactions, and improve quality of life in patients with wind cold dampness type RA.
