The Research Progress on the Correlation between Gastrin and Gastric Polyps
Gastrin is a peptide hormone primarily secreted by G cells, which has physiological effects such as promoting gastric acid secretion and cell proliferation.Various factors can lead to increased gastrin levels, and elevated gastrin is also associated with a range of digestive system diseases. Therefore, regulating the secretion of gastrin is very important for human health.Gastric polyps are localized protrusions that bulge from the gastric wall, mainly diagnosed through gastroscopy.Although gastric polyps are benign lesions, they still have the potential for malignancy and can progress to gastric cancer. This article reviews the current research status and related studies on the relationship between gastrin and gastric polyps.
