Research Progress on the Treatment of Acute Gouty Arthritis with Baihu plus Guizhi Decoction
Gout is a purine metabolism disorder caused by excessive synthesis of uric acid.With the development and changes in modern lifestyles,the incidence of gout has been increasing year by year.Baihu plus Guizhi Decoction is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine formula in clinical practice,which has been used throughout history to treat acute gouty arthritis.Pharmacological studies have shown that Baihu plus Guizhi Decoction inhibits inflammasomes through multiple pathways and targets,exerts anti-inflammatory effects,improves laboratory indicators,and effectively alleviates clinical symptoms.At the same time,this formula is suitable for situations where there are limited choices of western medicine and many adverse reactions.In clinical practice,it is also commonly used to modified Baihu plus Guizhi Decoction and to enhance the therapeutic effect of Baihu plus Guizhi Decoction combined with western medicine.This article explores the mechanism of action of Baihu plus Guizhi Decoction from both traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine,and summarizes the research progress of Baihu plus Guizhi Decoction in the clinical treatment of acute gouty arthritis.
