Application of visual laryngoscope combined with comprehensive difficult airway training assessment system for tracheal intubation in emergency standardized resident training
Objective To explore the application effect of visual laryngoscope combined with comprehensive difficult airway training assessment system for tracheal intubation in emergency standardized resident training. Methods 58 residents who participated in rotation in the Department of Emergency,Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected and randomly divided into the control group(n=28)and the experimental group(n=30).The control group received tracheal intubation skill training with direct laryngoscope combined with comprehensive difficult airway training and assessment system, and the experimental group received tracheal intubation skill training with visual laryngoscope combined with comprehensive difficult airway training and assessment system. After the training, tracheal intubation skill assessment was carried out for residents, including tracheal intubation of normal airway and difficult airway. The differences in tracheal intubation time, the success rate of one-time tracheal intubation, laryngoscope pressure on incisors, and the accurate rate of tracheal intubation position were compared between the two groups.Besides, questionnaire survey was conducted to the two groups to investigate residents'satisfaction with teaching. Results In the ordinary airway tracheal intubation, there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in laryngoscope pressure on incisors and the accurate rate of tracheal intubation position(P>0.05).The success rate of one-time tracheal intubation of the experimental group was greater than that of the control group, and the tracheal intubation time of the experimental group was less than that of the control group(all P<0.05).In difficult airway tracheal intubation, the success rate of one-time intubation and the accurate rate of tracheal intubation position in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the intubation time and laryngoscope pressure on incisors were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The questionnaire survey showed that self-confidence and learning interest of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),and there was no statistical difference in satisfaction and skill scores between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Visual laryngoscope combined with comprehensive difficult airway training and assessment system can improve the success rate of tracheal intubation for emergency residents, reduce the damage to incisors and promote the learning interest of residents.
