Effect of progressive resistance training on the activity and participation ability of children with spastic cerebral palsy
Objective To explore the effects of progressive resistance training on the activity and participation abilities of children with cerebral palsy at the ICF-CY level.Methods The study subjects were 40 children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy who were admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Jiamusi University from January to December 2021.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 20 cases in each group.The control group received routine rehabilitation training,while the observation group received progressive resistance training and routine rehabilitation training,with each group receiving treatment for 3 months.Before and after treatment,these children were evaluated for their activity and participation abilities using the Wee-FIM,PEDI,ADL,and TOP,respectively.Results The Wee-FIM,PEDI,ADL,and TOP scores in the observation group were all higher than those in control group after treatment,and the differences were of statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The progressive resistance training can effectively improve the activity and participation ability of children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy.
