Tinea Pedis and Onychomycosis Combined with Green Nail Syndrome:A Case Report
A 21-year-old woman presented with whitish and desquamated bilateral toe sutures with toenail destruction for five years.Fluorescent fungal microscopy of toe suture and toenail showed bamboo-like hyphae.Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found in the bacterial culture of nail debris of the left hallux;drug sensitivity test showed sensitivity to quinolones,cephalosporins and other antibiotics.Dermatoscopy showed marbled areas under the deck of the left hallux,white longitudinal stripes,serrated edges,and spikes directed proximally,with yellow-green pigment stripes.Diagnosis:tinea pedis,onychomycosis with green nail syndrome.Fungal infections of the superficial epithelium are common in clinical practice,but there are few reports related to tinea pedis and onychomycosis associated with green nails.
