Research Progress of Alpha-Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone in the Treatment of Dermatosis
Alpha-melanocytotropic hormone is a neuroendocrine hormone primarily responsible for stimulating the production of melanin in hair and skin.It also plays a role in controlling appetite and energy balance,sexual behavior,and ischemia-reperfusion-related injuries.In recent years,there has been considerable interest in the development of alpha-melanocyte hormone analogues.At the same time,they have been initially used in the treatment of porphyria,vitiligo,familial benign chronic pemphigus,polymorphous light eruption,solar urticaria,acne vulgaris and other skin diseases.This article reviews the mechanism and therapeutic application of alpha-melanocytotropic hormone in dermatosis.
