Objective To observe the moisturizing and protective effect on skin barrier of trilinolein. Methods Sixteen healthy volunteers were recruited and their skin moisture content, oil content and skin tone were measured before and after application of trilinolein cream.Five different samples containing different concentrations of trilinolein and other emollients were divided into identical vacuum dispensing bottles and numbered 1-5.59 healthy volunteers were recruited to blindly test the moisturising and nourishing effects of the five products. Results Following the administration of trilinolein cream, the volunteers'skin moisture content increased by approximately 38.83%immediately after application, and the skin still had a high moisture content 2 hours later(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in oil and tension before and after application. There was no statistically significant difference in the moisturizing effect of the five products in the randomised, blinded study. Conclusion Topical application of trilinolein cream has been demonstrated to have a beneficial moisturising effect on the skin.Furthermore, trilinolein cream does not appear to increase the oil content of the skin.In terms of moisturisation and nourishment, trilinolein cream is comparable to other emollient products currently available on the market.
