Application of Botulinum Toxin in Chinese Medical Cosmetics
Objective To observe the efficacy and safety in application of botulinum toxin in Chinese medical cosmetics,summarize the present clinical research on the application of botulinum toxin in medical cosmetics,and explore the development trend of the botulinum toxin market in China.Methods The data of safety and efficacy of botulinum toxin in medical cosmetics in China and the current research on botulinum toxin in medical cosmetics indications were summarized.Results In the treatment of glabellar lines,crow's feet and masseteric hypertrophy,botulinum toxin demonstrated superiority versus placebo at the recommended dose,as well as great safety.At present,new products and new indications emerged,which demonstrated a broad application prospect of botulinum toxin.Conclusion Botulinum toxin is effective and safe in treating glabellar lines,crow's feet lines and masseter hypertrophy,and has a broad application prospect.
