Purpose To explore the value of transurethral contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the diagnosis of urethral strictures.Materials and Methods From August 2021 to September 2023,five male patients diagnosed as urethral stricture by transurethral contrast-enhanced ultrasound in Peking University Third Hospital were retrospectively analyzed, the imaging data were analyzed. Results All the five patients had symptoms of urethral stricture such as dysuria.Five patients with urethral stricture were single. The stricture was located in the bulbar urethra in two cases,in the membranous urethra in one case,in the navicular fossa of urethra in one case, and in the prostatic urethra in one case. The stenosis was less than 1 cm in two cases and ranged from 1 to 2 cm in length in three cases. The thickness of the surrounding scar was less than 1 cm.Two patients were complicated with urethral calculi, and one patient was complicated with urethral diverticulum and false passage. Conclusion Transurethral contrast-enhanced ultrasound can noninvasively assess the location of the urethral stricture,length,single/multiple,scar thickness, presence of urethral rupture, presence of diverticulum, presence of false passage.Sonographers should master its operation standard and promote it in clinical practice.
