Objective:To construct a medical equipment management system based on the total productive maintenance (TPM) theory and explore its application value in medical equipment management. Methods:With the help of technologies such as digital circuits, wireless networks, sensors, and big data interaction, the TPM theory was deeply integrated into medical equipment management. The Internet of Things technology was used to collect the operation data of medical equipment, and the data extraction-transformation-loading (ETL) filtering technology, big data mining and analysis technology were adopted to process the data and display it externally, providing services such as medical equipment service volume, revenue, work efficiency, department benefit analysis, and single-machine benefit analysis. Twenty ultrasound medical devices in use from June 2021 to March 2024 in the Department of Ultrasonic Medicine of the West District Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China (Anhui Provincial Cancer Hospital) were selected. Thirteen devices from June 2021 to November 2022 were included in the control group and managed in the form of traditional record sheets. Seventeen devices from December 2022 to March 2024 were included in the observation group (including 10 devices from the control group and 7 newly added ones),and managed by the medical equipment management system based on the TPM theory. The operation quality and comprehensive efficiency levels of the ultrasonic medical equipment in the two groups were compared. Result:The average failure rate of the equipment in the observation group was (5.71±0.30)%,which was lower than that in the control group[(8.26±0.34)%],and the difference was statistically significant (t=2.297,P<0.05). The self-repair rate, timely maintenance rate and standardized operation rate were (88.66±5.69)%,(97.63±5.58)% and (98.13±4.54)% respectively, which were higher than those in the control group[(55.95±6.56)%,(70.53±4.67)% and (86.95±3.84)%],and the differences were all statistically significant (t=2.636,3.869,2.974,P<0.05). In terms of the comprehensive efficiency of the equipment, the average availability rate, performance index ratio and quality index ratio of the equipment in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group, and the differences were all statistically significant (t=5.672,7.235,4.556,P<0.05). Conclusion:The medical equipment management system based on the TPM theory can realize intelligent management and operation monitoring of medical equipment, improve the operation quality and comprehensive efficiency level of the equipment, and make medical equipment management more intelligent and refined.
