Practice of Performance Management in Inpatient Pharmacy Guided by Improvement of Position Competency
Objective To explore a new performance management mode for inpatient pharmacies in hospitals. Methods A performance management plan was formulated by setting performance management objectives, setting corresponding positions, designing evaluation indicators(including quantitative and qualitative indicators),distinguishing monthly and annual evaluation cycles, and establishing dynamic adjustment mechanisms. The effects of the plan before(from 2019 to 2020)and after implementation(from 2021 to 2022)were compared. Results After implementation, the monthly consistency rate of accounts and goods was higher than that before implementation[(98.71±0.62)%vs.(97.61±0.49)%].The quarterly average satisfaction rate with ward service was higher than that before implementation[(92.03±2.11)%vs.(91.60±2.54)%].Seven processes were optimized, and three standardized management systems were formulated. Two Chinese papers were published,of which one was selected as an academic abstract with high download frequency. One pharmacist won the first prize in the Chongqing Pharmacist Skills Competition. Conclusion The designed performance management plan can effectively guide pharmacists to actively think and summarize in their daily work, continuously improve their personal abilities in practice, and promote the formation of a new mode for performance management focusing on both things and people.
