Practice of Journal Club in Theoretical Teaching of Master Students in Clinical Pharmacy
Objective To investigate the application effect of Journal Club in the theoretical teaching of master students in clinical pharmacy.Methods Four master students of grade 2020 and six master students of grade 2021 majoring in clinical pharmacy from the Chongqing Medical University in 2022 were selected as the research objects.Before class,the students of the two grades worked in groups to formulate the optimal medication plan based on two clinical medication problems related to the teaching content of Advances in Clinical Pharmacotherapy through keyword setting,literature search,analysis,evaluation and evidence grading.In class,the master students shared classic literature and carried out the evidence-based pharmaceutical analysis on the optimal medication plan in the form of slides.The anonymous questionnaire survey method was used to record the number of students who fully agree,basically agree and disagree with eight items of this teaching method,and the corresponding proportion was calculated.The review written by students was rated as the excellent,good,medium and passing by the teacher,with scores ranging from 90 to 100 points,80 to 89 points,70 to 79 points and 60 to 69 points,respectively.The number of papers published by students after this study was recorded.Results Four and six questionnaires were distributed to students of grades 2020 and 2021 respectively,all of which were recovered,with the effective recovery rate of 100.00%.A total of 29 person-times of grade 2020 and 47 person-times of grade 2021 were fully or basically agree with all survey items,respectively.There were two,one and one students(50.00%,25.00%,25.00%)of grade 2020 got excellent,good and medium scores in the final exam respectively,with an excellent and good rate of 75.00%,and there were two,three and one students(33.33%,50.00%,16.67%)of grade 2021 got excellent,good and medium scores respectively,with an excellent and good rate of 83.33%.One review was published in the Science Citation Index(SCI)journal by a student of grade 2021.Conclusion The Journal Club teaching method can help improve the students'literature review and English reading abilities,stimulate the self-learning enthusiasm,enhance the independent thinking ability and innovation awareness of scientific research.
