Clinical Observation of Zhishi Xiaopi Formula Combined with Rhei Radix et Rhizoma Applied to Shenque Acupoint in the Treatment of Opioid-Induced Constipation
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Zhishi Xiaopi Formula combined with Rhei Radix et Rhizoma applied to Shenque acupoint in the treatment of opioid-induced constipation(OIC).Methods A total of 70 OIC patients treated with Oxycodone Hydrochloride Sustained-Release Tablets orally for cancer pain in the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of the hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group by the random number table method,with 35 cases in each group.The patients in the observation group were treated with Zhishi Xiaopi Formula combined with Rhei Radix et Rhizoma Powder applied to Shenque acupoint,while the patients in the control group were treated with Lactulose Oral Solution.Both groups were treated continuously for two weeks.Results The total effective rate of constipation treatment in the observation group was 85.71%,which was significantly higher than 57.14%in the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the score of each item and total score of Chronic Constipation Severity Scale(CSS)and Patient-Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life(PAC-QOL)in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05);and the effective rate of the Karnofsky Performance Status(KPS)score in the observation group was 82.86%,which was significantly higher than 60.00%in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Zhishi Xiaopi Formula combined with Rhei Radix et Rhizoma applied to Shenque acupoint can relieve OIC patients' symptoms,improve quality of life,and enhance physical strength.
