Analysis on Application of Topical Glaucoma Medications in an Eye Hospital from 2019 to 2022
Objective To provide a reference for the rational application of topical glaucoma medications in the clinic.Methods The data related to the application of topical glaucoma medications in an eye hospital from 2019 to 2022 were extracted from the Hospital Information System(HIS),including drug variety,unit price,specification,use amount and consumption sum.The consumption sum,defined daily dose system(DDDs),defined daily cost(DDC)and ranking ratio[drug consumption sum ranking(B)/DDDs ranking(A)]of these drugs were analyzed retrospectively by the defined daily dose(DDD)method.Results The consumption sum of prostaglandin analogues in the hospital was the most from 2019 to 2022,accounting for more than 60%.The DDCs of imported Travoprost and Timolol Maleate Eye Drops,Travoprost Eye Drops and Latanoprost Eye Drops were all relatively high;the B/A values of prostaglandin analogue eye drops were all lower than one,except for Tafluprost Eye Drops.The DDDs of imported Brinzolamide and Timolol Maleate Eye Drops were the highest from 2021 to 2022.Conclusion The application of topical glaucoma medications in this hospital is in line with the recommendations of relevant guidelines,and their clinical use is relatively rational.
