Arrhythmia Induced by Compound Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Powder(Ⅰ):A Case Analysis
Objective To provide a reference for the safe use of Compound Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Powder(Ⅰ)in the clinic. Methods By analyzing a case of patient with gastrointestinal dysfunction who had adverse drug reaction(ADR)of palpitations, discomfort, and arrhythmia after using Compound Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Powder(Ⅰ)for bowel cleansing before colonoscopy, based on the related literature and ADR monitoring data of Compound Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Powder(Ⅰ),the association between ADRs and drugs was evaluated according to the Guiding Principles for Collection and Reporting of Adverse DrugReactions to Individual Medicinal Products.Result and Conclusion The use of Compound Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Powder(Ⅰ)in patients over 60 years old and patients with electrolyte disorder has a certain risk.Clinical use should closely monitor patients with electrolyte disorder induced by diarrhea, vomiting, and other reasons.Once the above symptoms occur, corresponding intervention measures should be taken immediately to avoid inducing arrhythmia.
