A Cross-Sectional Study on the Adaptability of Injection Packaging and PIVAS in a Hospital
Objective To summarize the current status of packaging and specification design of intravenous injections,and to promote the standardization of drug packaging.Methods A systematic analysis was conducted on the packaging,specifications,and their adaptability with dosage of intravenous injections supplied by the pharmacy intravenous admixture services(PIVAS)in a tertiary hospital in Hebei Province.The standardized improvement suggestions were put forward based on the identified problems.Results A total of 215 types of intravenous injections were collected,with a wide coverage of varieties and strong representativeness of the sample hospital.Intravenous injections had packaging problems such as difficulty in protecting and labeling,incompatibility with dosage,and neglect of green,environmentally friendly,and economical aspects.Conclusion It is suggested that government departments should quickly introduce scientific and reasonable drug packaging standards and strictly approve drug packaging.It is suggested that intravenous injection manufacturers should consciously strengthen industry self-discipline,design drug packaging based on the patients'medication needs,and pay attention to a green and environmentally friendly economy.It is suggested that hospitals should develop scientific procurement strategies and continuously optimize the supply catalogue of drugs,select packaging and specifications that meet practical application requirements as much as possible for drug varieties with multiple packaging and specifications.
