Bibliometric Analysis of Hotspots and Trends in Perioperative Application of Esmolol
Objective To investigate the hotspots and research trends of the perioperative application of esmolol.Methods The relevant articles in the Web of Science(WOS)database from its inception to May 23,2023 were searched.The Citespace 5.8.R3 software was used for visual analysis of the publication and cooperation of relevant countries/regions,keyword co-occurrence,burst,clustering and literature co-citation.Results A total of 422 valid articles were obtained.The research began from 1993,and the quantity of publications shown a fluctuating upward trend,with the largest in 2013(24 articles).A total of 42 countries/regions were involved,and the top three with large quantity of publications were the United States(101 articles),Japan(55 articles),and China(37 articles);the United States had the closest cooperation with other countries,but there was less cooperation among most countries/regions.A total of 198 journals were involved,and the top three with large quantity of publications were the Anesthesia and Analgesia(28 articles),Journal of Clinical Anesthesia(17 articles),and Canadian Journal of Anesthesie-Journal Canadien D Anesthesie(14 articles),which all ranked in the Q1 region in the Journal Citation Report.The keywords with high frequency included ″anesthesia″(89 times),″surgery″(73 times),″remifentanil″(49 times),″propofol″(44 times),″sodium nitroprusside″(31 times),″cardiac surgery″(30 times)and so on;a total of 16 burst words were obtained,and the ″lidocaine″ was the keyword with a higher burst degree(3.67)from 2018 to 2023;there were 19 important clustering labels,mainly focused on the pharmacological effects and surgery of esmolol,comparative use of esmolol and other drugs and combined use of anesthetics.The articles were cited 7 885 times in total,and the general themes of the co-cited articles included non-cardiac surgery,eamolot pretreatment,etc.Conclusion The perioperative application of esmolol is mainly focused on the cardiac surgery,cardiopulmonary bypass surgery,etc.The application of esmolol in non-cardiac surgery,hemodynamic response and its effect on anesthetic drugs are the currently research hotspots.
