Clinical Observation of Sacral Magnetic Stimulation in the Treatment of Refractory Overactive Bladder in Elderly Women
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of sacral magnetic stimulation(SMS)in the treatment of refractory overactive bladder(OAB)in elderly women. Methods Sixty elderly female patients with OAB refractory to anticholinergic drugs admitted to the hospital from February 2020 to March 2022 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group based on the orders of treatment, with 30 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group received SMS,while the patients in the control group received the same procedure without stimulation intensity. Results At one week and four weeks after treatment, the 24-hour micturition frequency and 24-hour urgent micturition frequency in the observation group were significantly fewer than those in the control group, the OAB symptom score was significantly lower than that in the control group, the incontinence quality of life questionnaire(I-QOL)score was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);the volume at first desire(VFD),volume at urgent desire(VUD),and bladder compliance(BC)in the observation group were significantly greater than those in the control group, the incidence of detrusor overactivity(DO)was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in other urinary flow indexes between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion SMS can significantly improve the OAB symptoms and is non-invasive,which is expected to be a new treatment option for refractory OAB in elderly women.
