The Efficacy of Tuberculosis Pill Adjuvant to Conventional Quadruple Anti-tuberculosis Therapy in the Treatment of Secondary Pulmonary Tuberculosis
Objective:To explore the efficacy, safety, and impact on lung function of tuberculosis pill adjunct to conventional qua-druple anti-tuberculosis therapy in the treatment of secondary pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods:207 patients with secondary pulmonary tuberculosis who were admitted to our hospital during the period from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects. These patients were randomly allocated into two groups:the observation group consisting of 104 cases and the conventional group with 103 cases. The conventional group was treated with conventional quadruple anti-tuberculosis therapy alone, while the observation group was treated with tuberculosis pill in combination with conventional quadruple anti-tuberculosis therapy. Both groups of patients were treated for 6 months. The curative effect (the total efficiency rate of treatment, cavity closure rate) was compared between the two groups. The occurrence rate of adverse reactions was compared between the two groups. The effects of different drug regimens on lung function (FEV1、FEV1/FVC)were compared between the two groups. Results:The total efficiency rate of treatment among patients in the observation group stood at 98.08%,marking a substantial increase compared to the 89.32% rate observed in the conventional group(P<0.05). The rate of cavity closure improvement in the observation group apparently outperformed the conventional group, standing at 92.31% compared to 75.73% (P<0.05). The observation group exhibited a notably lower occurrence rate of adverse reactions (6.73% vs 26.21%) (P<0.05). There was no statistic difference in lung function indicators between the two groups of patients before treatment (P>0.05). After 6 months of treatment, the FEV1 and FEV1/FVC values of the two groups of patients apparently increased compared to those before treatment, and the FEV1 and FEV1/FVC values in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The use of tuberculosis pill adjunct to conventional quadruple anti-tuberculosis therapy treatment of secondary pul-monary tuberculosis has significant efficacy and safety, and can improve lung function to a certain extent, providing reference value for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
