Latent Profile Analysis of Pharmaceutical Care Competency of Pharmacists in Public Hospitals
Objective To explore the potential categories and influencing factors of pharmaceutical care competence of pharmacists in public hospitals, and analyze its relationship with job satisfaction. Methods A total of 393 pharma-cists from public hospitals in Shandong Province were investigated, and latent profile analysis was used to explore their potential categories of pharmaceutical care competency, and the influencing factors of different potential catego-ries and their relationship with pharmacists'job satisfaction were analyzed by multiple logistic regression and multi-ple linear regression. Results There were four potential categories of pharmaceutical care competence of pharmacists in public hospitals:low competency group(6.4%),medium low competency group(23.9%),medium high com-petency group(59.3%)and high competency group(10.4%).Gender,working years and medical institution level were statistically significant(P<0.05)on the potential categories of pharmaceutical care competence. The potential categories of pharmacists'pharmaceutical care competency were statistically significanl(P<0.05)in job satisfac-tion scores.Further multiple linear regression analysis showed that pharmaceutical care competency could positively predict job satisfaction(ΔR2=0.147,P<0.001).Conclusion The pharmaceutical care competency of pharmacists in public hospitals the higher the competence, the higher the job satisfaction. It is suggested that hospital managers should formulate targeted management measures according to the characteristics of the potential categories of phar-maceutical care competency, carry out assessment and evaluation, implement precise training, develop human re-sources,and improve the incentive mechanism.
