A study on the factors influencing the selection of new varieties by farmers:taking characteristic freshwater fish as an example
The paper is based on the survey data of characteristic freshwater fish farmers in 2022,constructing a binary logistic model to analyze the five influencing factors and motivations that affect the selection of new species by farmers.Research has found that breeding years, information acquisition channels, degradation of seedling quality, and participation in fishery insurance have a positive impact on the selection of new varieties.False sales by operators and unstable sources of goods will have a negative impact on the selection of new varieties, while education level, breeding area, type of breeder, cooperation with industry organizations, participation in technical training, and seedling sources have no significant impact on the selection of new varieties.According to the research findings, targeted measures are proposed to encourage farmers to adopt new varieties, such as cultivating demonstration users of new varieties, increasing multi-channel commercial promotion, ensuring stable supply of goods, strengthening the management of seedling operators, and improving the fishery insurance system.
