The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park is the largest multi-purpose marine park in the world,which is mainly managed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Administration in accordance with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Law and other laws.The primary goal of management is to implement long-term protection and conservation of the park,and follow the principle of ecological sustainability to ensure the traditional use of resources such as commercial fishing and aboriginal people.The relevant legislation of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park,the formulation process and content of the zoning plan,the management system,the main legal system and measures are systematically studied.When China formulates the legislation and policy of national parks including marine parks,the management objectives established by the relevant legislation of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park,the creation of the zoning plan,the prohibition or permission of behavior,the collection of environmental management fees,civil penalties and other systems,as well as the democratic,scientific and transparent decision-making process are worth learning from.
